Role Overview
Optiver is hiring a Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst for its European trading floor in Amsterdam. You will develop mathematical risk models, real-time exposure limits, and stress-testing frameworks for high-frequency market-making across equity index options, ETFs, and fixed income derivatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build automated real-time risk controls and circuit-breakers for algorithmic execution systems
- Model volatility surfaces and stress-test historical liquidity shocks across European exchanges
- Collaborate directly with options traders and risk managers to calibrate capital limits
- Validate numerical models against regulatory capital and European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) rules
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or Computer Science
- 4+ years experience in quantitative risk management, financial engineering, or automated trading analysis
- Strong programming capability in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) and working understanding of C++
- Solid mathematical understanding of options pricing, volatility surfaces, and Greek sensitivities
