Role Overview
Finning is the authorized dealer for Caterpillar equipment in Western Canada. We have approved positive LMIAs to hire certified Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics to service mining haul trucks, hydraulic excavators, and track-type tractors at our branch shops in Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and rebuild CAT heavy diesel engines, torque converters, and hydraulic pumps
- Use CAT Electronic Technician (ET) software to read diagnostic fault codes and calibrate sensors
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and track component wear in service logs
- Comply with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations at all times
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Recognized Heavy Equipment Technician trade certificate or minimum 4 years verifiable heavy mechanical experience
- Experience diagnosing diesel engines, hydraulic circuits, and electronic transmission systems
- Valid driving licence with clean abstract
- Basic English communication skills (CLB 4 or above)
